Colleges continue to pick up interest in 6-foot-1, 188-pound wide receiver Jonathan Hough. The Wadesboro (N.C.) Anson prospect hasn't garnered an offer to date, but has colleges interested.
"I've had a few Division I schools come by and they took some film with them," Anson head coach Luke Hyatt said. "I don't remember them all, NC State asked and Virginia Tech asked. They are just kind of initiating some interest.
"You know, the FCS and I-AA guys are hanging around to see what happens too."
On the field, Hough is breaking out.
"He's had a pretty outstanding year," he said. "In our last game he caught six balls for 167-yards and a touchdown. He's having a big year, averaging 24-yards a catch and we're getting the ball to him a little more now.
"He kind of flew under the radar last year, but is getting a bit of attention. I expect it'll pick up more in the coming weeks."
What has stood out about Hough's play this year?
"You know, he's made a real commitment to playing football," he stated. "He worked his rear end off in the weight room over the summer, gained some weight and is a good route runner. He has increased his speed and that has helped him a bit. He does a good job getting open and makes the big play for us."
