Recruiting is rising for 2013 DB

Charlotte (N.C.) Christian safety Desmond Lawrence claims one scholarship so far. The 6-foot-0, 175-pounder broke down his recruitment including the latest.
"It's just one offer right now from South Carolina," he said. "I think I got it in June at camp.
"The only recent thing is I went to Duke about two weekends ago. Duke was really fun. They showed me practice and I sat in on the defensive back meeting. I just like how they did things, they way they ran practice. Duke showed me a lot."
Are any other visits coming up?
"Not right now, Duke is the only visit so far."
However, Lawrence is receiving looks from the likes of Alabama, Minnesota and Virginia.
The Carolina defensive back is hoping one other school jumps into the mix in the future.
"I like all the schools recruiting me now, but one school I liked when growing up was Virginia Tech," he said. "I haven't really heard much from them, but hopefully I do.
"I just like Virginia Tech's game, the way they play. I like that they play big corners and big defensive backs."
In three games this season, Lawrence has posted approximately 20 tackles and three pass breakups.
"I'm one of the leading tacklers on my team," he said. "Every camp this summer taught me different techniques. I'm breaking on the balls and I'm not backing out too fast."
