Recruiting heats up for LB Killebrew

Linebacker Brandon Killebrew out of Springdale (Md.) Flowers holds one official offer. The 6-foot-0, 215-pounder also has a verbal from the Big Ten. Are there any leaders for the Maryland talent?
"I have an offer from Navy and a verbal from Michigan State," he said. "I got the Navy offer a couple months ago and Michigan State informed my coach at the end of the school year."

What's the situation with the Spartans?
"They are still evaluating me and want me to come up there so I can get the written letter," he said. "I plan to get up there sometime in July."
Other schools are showing interest in the Maryland prospect.
"Pittsburgh is showing a lot, West Virginia sends two or three letters a week, Illinois, Boston College, ECU and Ohio are really interested."
Not too long ago Killebrew made an appearance at Maryland.
"I went there and I should get an offer from them sooner or later," he said. "I worked out with Coach Cosh and he really likes me a lot. He said he likes my sideline speed, he just wants to see me get a little bit faster."
Killebrew plans to take a few visits in the near future.
"I'm going to West Virginia on the 29th," he said. "I'll probably get to William & Mary, Pittsburgh, Michigan State and Illinois."
Five schools currently lead for the prospect.
"Right now Navy, Michigan State, Maryland, Pittsburgh and West Virginia are on top in no specific order," he said. "They all recruited me early on and I've developed a relationship with the coaching staff. The coach from Pittsburgh told me he felt I had some of the best tape in the Northeast.
"Overall, I just want a good college atmosphere, someplace I feel at home and obviously a position for early playing time."
Killebrew posted 110 tackles, 10 for loss, two interceptions, seven deflections and two sacks as a junior.
