Aledo, Texas, is no stranger to producing big-time talent. Just in recent years, the city has produced Alabama running back Jase McClellan, Alabama wide receiver JoJo Earle, Texas defensive back BJ Allen, and Oklahoma tight end Jason Llewellyn.

The program is also home to 2024 Texas commit Jaden Allen and rising 2026 wide receiver Kaydon Finley - the son of former Green Bay Packers tight end Jermichael Finley.

Class of 2024 athlete is Davhon Keys has been making a name for himself, too. The junior holds offers from programs all over and is making a big impact in the Metroplex this fall. He rushed for a touchdown and played his usual linebacker duties in Aledo's most recent win over Denton Ryan.

"We made an impactful statement," Keys said following the big win on Friday night. "It's starting to put us on the radar. People aren't going to overlook us and think we are the same team we once were."

Keys plays both sides of the ball, but he is primarily being looked at to play linebacker on the next level. He believes that his experience playing on offense has only helped him improve his game on the defensive side.

"I really enjoy it and being able to play running back at a good level helps out playing linebacker. I can predict the running back - what they're going to do before they even want to do it. And how to make my reads quicker. It helps me helps me feel faster, for sure," Keys said.

As Keys has a big season in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, his recruitment has really taken off. The versatile athlete has taken game visits to different Big 12 and SEC schools this fall.

Auburn, Oklahoma, TCU, and Texas have all hosted the Aledo product on campus. is planning to get down to LSU in November for the Tigers' matchup with Alabama. Keys has had the chance to take in big atmospheres and get an up-close view of the coaching staffs that are tirelessly recruiting him.

"They all have something unique about them," Keys said about his visits. "Some things that I like better than others. But I can't say there's for sure that there any standouts (in my recruitment)."

Keys is adamant that he does not have any favorites at this point in the process. He is taking it all in and enjoying the process before he really starts to trim his list of contenders in the coming months.

"By the end of the season, I'm looking to start narrowing down and I'm expecting a commitment sometime in the beginning of next year," Keys said of his recruitment timeline.
