Recruiting grows for 2011 Texas DE

2011 defensive end Collin Middleton out of Cedar Park, Texas put together an impressive season. The 6-foot-3, 234-pounder followed that up with a solid performance at the U.S. Army Combine recently. What's the latest with his recruitment?
"My team went 7-3 and we lost our first playoff game," he said. "I did well. I led the team in tackles and sacks with 70 tackles and six sacks on my way to all-district and honorable mention all-state."

Middleton then had a solid outing in San Antonio.
"I did well at the Army combine," he said. "I ran a good 40 and went 9-2 in one-on-ones. It was a really good experience and I realized I could compete with the best guys out there. I knew I was good in my district, but I found out I could compete out there."
Middleton is still without offers, but is getting interest.
"I've been hearing from every Division I school in Texas except UT along with Colorado and Minnesota," he said. "I'm keeping everything open. I have no clue where I want to go.
"I have visited Texas A&M, Texas Tech and SMU. They were all impressive."
With interest growing, Middleton is looking for a few things in a college.
"Honestly I think everyone wants the TV stuff," he said. "I want my major, pre-law or business, a school that offers a good program for that. I also want to play. I don't want to wait until my senior year. Location doesn't really matter. No matter where I go I'll have family support."
