As a true freshman, James Rodgers is OSU's second leading rusher with 312 yards, has caught six passes for 90 yards and returns punts. He's also recruited one of the top backs in the Texas in his brother.
"They are going to do what they did here at Lamar Consolidated at Oregon State," Lamar coach Lydell Wilson said. "They are leaders and work tremendously hard. Throw in a lot of God-given talent and you a couple of great players.
"James has made a name for himself out there and it won't be long until Jacquizz puts his stamp on their program," he said.
Rodgers is the 27th ranked all-purpose running back by Rivals.com. Rodgers has rushed for 1,758 yards and 21 touchdowns this season and has led Lamar to another playoff appearance. Lamar will face Dickinson High School in the first-round of the playoffs.
