Rebels stand out among new offers for Jones

The list is growing for Adamsville (Ala.) Minor safety Christion Jones. With offers steadily flowing in, Jones picked up three more big ones recently with offers from UCLA, Texas A&M and Ole Miss. Despite the prestige of all three schools, one stuck out to the athletic ball-hawk more than the others.
"Ole Miss kind of kicked out to me," Jones said following news of his offer on Tuesday. "They're looking at using me on both sides of the ball."

The thought of playing both defensive back and wide receiver appeals to Jones but the Rebels stick out as much for their conference as they do for their position plans for him.
"I kind of want to stay in the SEC," he said. "I really didn't have any interest in the other schools. I'm glad they offered but I'm kind of focused on the SEC."
That conference focus is evident when Jones lists the schools at the top of his list.
"I'm still looking at Auburn, Tennessee and Florida right now," he said. "Those are the big three schools and Ole Miss now that they've offered."
Though the Gators haven't offered, Jones is hopeful that one will come and he has maintained a good relationship with the Florida coaching staff.
"I have a relationship with Coach Z and we have great communication on email," he said. "We just talk about different things going on."
As the offseason continues, Jones has plans of camping at Notre Dame in June and also hopes to hit Tennessee and Alabama camps. With no intended decision date, Jones claims he's not waiting on any particular offers except for Florida. He has plenty of SEC options already.
"First of all, the SEC is the best conference," he said. "They have the best athletes. They have great athletes in the Big Ten and Pac 10 has a lot of athlete there but playing around the athletes in the SEC and against those athletes is what I want to do."
