Rebels land QB
UNLV was able to land their quarterback of the future when Shane Steichen (6-3, 175, 4.77) from El Dorado Hills (Calif.) Oak Ridge committed to John Robinson and UNLV on Christmas Eve.
The Rebels get an outstanding quarterback in Steichen. He threw for 2,500 yards and 34 touchdowns as a senior. Steichen’s performance was good enough for him to be selected Sacramento Area MVP and his league’s Player of the Year.

“I liked the coaches at UNLV,” Steichen said. “They called and recruited me the hardest.”
“I really liked Coach (John) Robinson and everyone I met at UNLV.”
Utah State also offered Steichen a scholie.
