Irmo, S.C. - Athletes from the Carolinas, Georgia, and even Florida congregated at Dutch Fork High School on Saturday morning to compete in the VTOSports Elite100 event.

The deepest positional group throughout the day was at wide receiver, where a quick group of pass-catchers made plays all day whether in pass skeleton work or one-on-ones.
Local product Marcus Reaster-Glover earned the VTOSports MVP award from the coaching staff at the position and an invitation to the Rivals Camp Series circuit.
"It was a lot of competition out here," he said. "That just felt real good. I know a lot of people that were going and wanted to find a way to get there."
Augusta (Ga.) Aquinas' Justin Gibbs, a 6-foot-2, 178-pounder with an excellent frame who is just a freshman, was very impressive. Gibbs is still developing his skill set but showed his considerable upside from the get-go.
Piedmont (S.C.) Wren's Bailey Rogers is a 2016 slot-type receiver who showed off strong hands and precise route-running ability. He has deceptive speed and frequently beat defenders with double moves. Pendleton's Malik Grate runs well and can get downfield, and another Palmetto State product in Jayson Hopper was also very consistent with his hands and route combinations.
Sumter (S.C.)'s Ky'Jon Tyler, a 5-foot-9, 165-pounder opened some eyes with a big afternoon. He hauled in a variety of different passes and did not seem to have a drop all day. He's a jitterbug in the open field with quick-twitch athleticism, and also knows how to get open and finish plays. Tyler was an all-state selection as a receiver and kick returner and holds his school's records for receptions in a season and career.
Honor roll
Blythewood (S.C.)'s Hassan Belton, who has attended junior days at Charlotte and Georgia and is also hearing from Clemson, Duke, and Wake Forest, was happy about his reps at the camp en route to being named MVP of the linebackers group by VTOSports coaches.
"It was a lot of good competition," Belton said. "I came to work hard. It's just a blessing. It feels good to see all the hard work paid off. I'm not going to stop. I'm going to just keep on working."
Anderson (S.C.) T.L. Hanna QB Jackson Williamson, the son of former South Carolina signal-caller Blake Williamson, saw his performance rewarded with an invitation to the Rivals Underclassmen Challenge this summer.
"It's a big honor," he said. "I've always been able to throw the ball pretty decently. I've been learning to work on my feet more and the importance of getting in my drops and throwing the ball on time and accurately."
Georgia defensive lineman Phillip Burke took home MVP honors on the defensive line and rave reviews from VTOSports coaches.
"Today went pretty good," he said. "Any of these guys could have gotten any of these awards. Everybody worked hard. One of my friends got an invite (to the Rivals Camp Series) and I was hoping I would, too. It made my day. Hopefully this will help me with some colleges."
Standout performers
Boiling Springs (S.C.) quarterback Daniel Thompson is undersized, but the brother of current USC starter Dylan Thompson makes all the throws very well and has a great competitive nature about him. Hillcrest (S.C.) safety Seth Nichols always seemed to be around the ball in coverage. Manning (S.C.)'s Davon York and Wren (S.C.)'s Desmond Williams were two other undersized defensive linemen who were bulls on the defensive line in one-on-ones.
Powdersville (S.C.)'s Nick Perdomo looks more like a tight end sleeper at the next level, but worked out with the receivers and caught everything thrown his way. Riverside (S.C.)'s Jeremiah Bogan showed natural cover skills at cornerback.
