Ready to commit

Santa Fe Springs (Calif.) cornerback Romeo Pellum just returned from his visit to Washington State and Cougar coach Bill Doba will return the favor tomorrow night. Coach Doba might leave the Pellum household with a new commitment if Arizona State doesn't decide to offer.
"If they don't offer me today, then I'm going to commit to Washington State," Pellum said. "Coach Doba is coming to my house tomorrow night to talk to my mom, so if everything goes well then I'll commit."

It seems as if Pellum's commitment timetable will be decided today despite Pellum's plans to visit Arizona State this upcoming weekend.
"I'm supposed to go to Arizona State this weekend," he said. "I might commit before or I might do it after."
Right now though, Pellum has a clear cut leader.
"Washington State is my favorite team right now," Pellum said.
While visiting the Cougars, Pellum got the chance to get to know coach Doba even more.
"I ate a lot," he said."I talked with the coaches. I sat down and met with coach Doba the first day I was there. Then I met with him yesterday also."
Pellum also was hosted by another Southern California kid while in Washington.
"I had fun with the players," Pellum said. "My host was Dwight Tardy. He's from St. Paul which is around the corner from my school. I had a lot of connection with the players out there."
It appears as if this connection could be very important as Pellum has been concerned about how comfortable he will be that far from home in a different environment. However, many of those fears have been alleviated after this weekend's visit.
"I just like it," Pellum said. "I like it a lot. Going in, I didn't think I would like it. It's a small town. It's far from anywhere. It's far from California. But I talked to some of the players and some of the students that are from Southern California. A lot of people said that's the best thing they've done in their life was get away. I kind of think that's what I need to do is get away."
