RIVALSCAMPSERIES:TOPUNDERCLASSMEN(OFFENSE)
1.OLMitchHyatt,Suwannee(Ga.)NorthGwinnett(2015)
Hyatt is one of the most sought-after offensive linemen in the Southeast, and he showed why at the RCS Atlanta stop. The 6-foot-5, 265-pound Hyatt showed good balance and footwork, and he has a frame that will allow him to add muscle as he matures physically. With offers from AlabamaClick Here to view this Link., GeorgiaClick Here to view this Link., FloridaClick Here to view this Link. and pretty much the entire SEC, his recruitment will be one to follow heading into the fall.
2. WR Trent Irwin, Newhall (Calif.) Hart (2015)
The first thing that stands out about Irwin is he's an excellent route runner who doesn't slow down into his breaks and has great awareness on when to set up the cornerback. Then he catches everything thrown in his direction. The Offensive MVP of the Phoenix RCS is almost unstoppable in one-on-one situations.
3. ATH Christian Kirk, Scottsdale (Ariz.) Saguaro (2015)
Kirk is being recruited mostly at wide receiver, and he showed everyone why at the RCS Phoenix. Kirk has the build of an older player and the speed of a blue-chip athlete. His cuts are sudden and crisp, and he doesn't mind a little contact at the line of scrimmage. He was in the running for Offensive Skill MVP for most of the afternoon. Kirk is, without a doubt, the top 2015 prospect in Arizona.
Lodge was a bit of a sleeper coming into the RCS in Dallas, but his coaches warned he could make an impression. He certainly did as he walked away with Offensive Skill MVP honors with his smooth routes, sure hands and superb athleticism. Since the camp, he has earned offers from Arizona StateClick 4. 5. RB Ray Ray McCloud III, Tampa (Fla.) Sickles (2015)
McCloud made the most of his opportunity at the RCS Orlando event, earning the Offensive Skill MVP award. The two-way star took reps out of the backfield, in addition to lining up at cornerback. He possesses excellent quickness and can eat up a linebacker's cushion with ease when releasing upfield. His stock will be on the rise this offseason.
6. WR Luke McFadden, Tampa (Fla.) Plant (2015)
All McFadden did was catch a million passes in Orlando. We are exaggerating a little, but the rising sophomore caught everything targeted for him. He isn't the fastest wideout or the biggest, yet he was always open and he understands how to create separation. McFadden hails from powerhouse program Tampa (Fla.) Plant and is coached well.
The Pine Bluff standout already held an offer from ArkansasClick 7. RB Will Gragg, Pine Bluff (Ark.) (2015) Here to view this Link. when he arrived at the Dallas RCS, and he was considered among the top 2015 prospects in Arkansas. He proved to be sure-handed as a receiver and created separation against any linebacker he faced.
With so much high-end talent in the class of 2014 at RCS Atlanta, Nauta surprised by showing strength at the line of scrimmage, good hands and above-average speed. The ceiling for the rising sophomore appears to be high, whether he decides to stay at tight end or play defensive end, another position where he excels. During the spring, he's added offers from FloridaClick 8. TE Isaac Nauta, Buford (Ga.) (2016) Here to view this Link., MichiganClick 8. TE Isaac Nauta, Buford (Ga.) 9. QB De'Andre Johnson, Jacksonville (Fla.) First Coast (2015)
Johnson was sharp at the RCS Orlando stop in March. He delivers a good, catchable ball to go with above-average arm strength. We like his touch when fitting the ball over the top, along with his ability to drive the ball downfield on verts and post patterns.
10. TE Kyle Penniston, Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei (2015)
Penniston had a strong camp at the Los Angeles RCS, and he wanted to continue proving himself so he showed up at the Chicago RCS and performed well again. The Mater Dei standout has great size, he's fluid and smooth in his routes, and he catches the ball with ease. He has soft hands, he doesn't fight the ball, and he's tough, too, which makes for a difficult matchup, especially during one-on-ones.
At about 5-foot-8 and 168 pounds, Johnson isn't going to wow anyone when he walks through the line at registration. But at the RCS Birmingham stop he turned heads with his speed and route-running ability. He's a slot receiver with excellent high-end speed, and he figures to be used in a multitude of ways at the next level. He has early offers from IndianaClick 11. WR Johnathon Johnson, Memphis (Tenn.) Melrose (2015) Here to view this Link. and Ole MissClick 11. WR Johnathon Johnson, Memphis (Tenn.) Melrose (2015) Here to view this Link., and plenty of schools will be by to see him this spring.
Williams had a reputation as one of the top running backs in Texas for the 2015 class, and he already held an offer from Ole MissClick 12. RB Rawleigh Williams , RB, Dallas (Tex.) Bishop Lynch (2015) Here to view this Link.. At the Dallas RCS, his cuts were crisp, his routes were clean and no one could handle him in one-on-ones. After the camp, he saw interest increase from area programs but committed to Ole Miss in April.
Thomas is a shifty athlete who can probably play all-purpose back or wide receiver at the next level, and he showed off his hands while working as a wideout at RCS Birmingham. He runs great routes, he doesn't waste steps, and he knows how to get open despite his slight build. Thomas has offers from Ole MissClick 13. WR Deddrick Thomas, Memphis (Tenn.) Central (2015) Here to view this Link. and MemphisClick 13. WR Deddrick Thomas, Memphis (Tenn.) Central (2015) Here to view this Link., while LSUClick 13. WR Deddrick Thomas, Memphis (Tenn.) Richmond turned in a stellar performance at the RCS Birmingham stop, using all 6-foot-6, 300-plus pounds of his body to throw defenders around during one-on-ones. Despite his size and relative youth, Richmond is polished and fundamentally sound. More important, he showed improvement from his sophomore season and continues to look like an elite-level tackle. He's netted early offers from AlabamaClick 14. OL Drew Richmond, Memphis (Tenn.) University School (2015) Here to view this Link., FloridaClick 14. OL Drew Richmond, Memphis (Tenn.) 15. WR D.J. Moore, Philadelphia (Pa.) Imhotep Charter (2015)
Moore earned his invitation to the New Jersey RCS after a standout performance at a 7-on-7 camp this offseason, and he turned in the same type of performance on the big stage at Piscataway High School. Moore looked like he had put on more muscle and was just as fast and explosive. He got off the line, put a move on the cornerback and was downfield in an instant. He made impressive catches and showed toughness after falling hard early and continuing to play the rest of the day.
Johnson was a standout performer at the New Jersey RCS. His big frame and surprising strength made it incredibly difficult for cornerbacks to cover him. Johnson, who already holds a RutgersClick 16. WR Juwan Johnson, Glassboro (N.J.) (2015) Here to view this Link. offer, has good speed and is shifty in space. If he adds strength and bulk to his frame, he could become unstoppable.
17. WR Miles Boykin, New Lenox (Ill.) Providence Catholic (2015)
Boykin is just starting to realize his potential in football after making noise on the basketball court early in his prep career. At 6-foot-4 and 230 pounds, Boykin is a huge target for quarterbacks and he complements that size with great athleticism. At the Chicago RCS, his movements were fluid and his speed excellent for a big wide receiver.
18. RB Andrew Dowell, Lakewood (Ohio) St. Edward's (2015)
Andrew is the lesser known of the two Dowell brothers at St. Edward's because the 6-foot, 200-pound running back lost his entire sophomore season to an injury, but he proved at the Pittsburgh RCS that he is one to watch this fall. Dowell has great size for the position, and he was consistently superb with his play in the rainy conditions.
Both of Veal's parents were Division I athletes, and he showed that he inherited plenty of the family genes while excelling at the RCS Charlotte stop. Veal is strong and has a frame that will allow him to get even bigger and stronger heading into his junior season. Since his showing at camp, Veal has earned a ClemsonClick 19. 20. OL Brice Hinton, Trotwood (Ohio) Trotwood-Madison (2015)
Trotwood-Madison looks to have another strong group in the 2015 class, and one of its best is the 6-foot-3, 306-pound Hinton. An interior line prospect, Hinton combines technique, strength and footwork that stymie the rush of interior defensive linemen, which he did repeatedly at the Cincinnati RCS.
Running back Larry ScottClick 21. OL Matthew Jones, OL, Hubbard (Ohio) (2015) Here to view this Link. has drawn most of the early attention out of Hubbard in the class of 2015, but the 6-foot-4, 305-pound Jones proved he is a young offensive linemen worthy of Division I attention with his play at the Pittsburgh RCS. Jones is a solidly built interior offensive lineman who plays with great strength and has active hands.
Boulware has improved at every camp he has been to, and the Richmond RCS was his best. MarylandClick 22. OL Quarvez Boulware, Washington (D.C.) 23. OL AJ Harris, Stillwell (Kan.) Blue Valley (2015)
Harris was a bit of a surprise at the RCS St. Louis. Nobody knew much about him before the event, but he made his mark with an impressive series of one-on-ones that saw him lose few reps to older, better-known players. At 6-foot-3, 291 pounds, Harris has the frame to be an impact player at the BCS level. His long arms and tremendous strength allow him to compensate for footwork that needs development.
