Junior To Watch: Demarcus Johnson

Position: Running back and defensive back
Size and speed: Johnson is 5-foot-11 and 190 pounds. He runs the 40-yard dash in 4.5 seconds.
Statistics: As a junior Johnson rushed for 1,044 yards, becoming only the third player in his school's history to top 1,000 in a season.
Favorite schools: Clemson, Vanderbilt, Notre Dame, Auburn, Tulane and Indiana are Johnson's favorites at this point.
Skinny: Johnson is a back that possesses a good combination of strength and speed, and is one of the best pass catchers you'll find coming out of the backfield.
"I really hit the hole with power," said Johnson. "I have good vision and follow my blocks well. I have really good hands, which allows the offense to use me in the passing game. We run swing passes and screens, and I'm comfortable with that."
What will be the biggest factors in Johnson's decision?
"The primary factors are going to be academics. I want to go somewhere where I can do well in the classroom. The graduation rate of a program is important, because it shows how much a school is committed to helping their student athletes succeed.
"I plan on camping at Georgia Tech, Vanderbilt and Auburn over the summer. They all have solid academics and aren't too far from home. They also would give me the chance to play against good competition."
