RB Wells adds new team

Jacksonville (Fla.) Sandalwood running back Maurice Wells is trying to narrow down his list but finding it tough going. With three official visits set, who will get the last two?
"I'm still not sure yet," said the 5-foot-9, 177-pounder. "I have Southern Cal set for this weekend (Oct. 8), Maryland for Oct. 29 and Ohio State for Nov. 19. There are other schools I like, but I haven't set anything else up."

Georgia Tech has always been a favorite of Wells, but he may not need to see the Yellow Jackets in person.
"I've been there a bunch of times," he said. "It's a good school, they led the ACC in rushing last year and I hit it off with Calvin Johnson, their receiver, when I visited earlier."
Others in the mix include Florida, Florida State, Notre Dame and now Purdue.
"Tennessee is out, they sort of told me that they're set at running back or whatever," he said. "I can't remember what they said exactly, but it wouldn't be a good fit. Purdue looks like a fun offense."
Wells, the No. 2 running back in the country, has offers from more than 40 schools. What does he like about each of the schools he'll visit?
"USC is the No. 1 team in the country and I've always wanted to see L.A. I've never been," he said. "They also have good academics. Ohio State I like because it's a great school and I have family in Columbus. I lived there when I was really young.
"Maryland is also a good program with a great coach who has brought the program up. I lived in Silver Springs, Maryland for a good part of my life as well, until sixth grade. Then we moved to Japan for a couple of years and then to Florida. My dad is in the military."
So far this season, Wells has 648 yards and six touchdowns on 96 carries. He missed his team's latest game with a hip pointer but hopes to be back soon.
