RB to camp at UCF Rutgers

Junior To Watch: Vince Patterson
School: St.Petersburg (Fla.) Admiral Farragut

Position: Running back and defensive back
Size and speed: Patterson is 5-foot-9 and 175 pounds. He runs the 40-yard dash in 4.4 seconds.
Honors: As a junior Patterson was named second team all-county, third team ll-state and team MVP. He was the third leading rusher in the county.
Statistics: At running back Patterson rushed for 1,349 yards on 144 carries and scored 20 touchdowns. He also caught six passes out of the backfield for 117 yards and a touchdown. As a defensive back he had 23 tackles, three tackles for loss, four interceptions, 15 pass breakups and a fumble recovery.
Favorite schools: Patterson remains open, but has received interest from Boston College, Central Florida, Indiana, South Florida, Rutgers and Ball State.
Skinny: In the mold of a Barry Sanders-type back because of his size, speed and elusiveness, Patterson is athletic and versatile.
Patterson is not a big player by any means but has excellent speed and is all over the field. He has good acceleration coming out of the backfield, never stops moving his legs and can hit the right holes, even if they're only open for a second.
"I'm going to go to summer camps at Central Florida and Rutgers," said Patterson. "Beyond that I don't know right now, but if I get the chance I might go to others. I'm not sure about the unofficial visits I'll take yet, but I will go to the campuses of the schools I'm very interested in. I'm just trying to remain totally open-minded right now and not rule anyone out.
"The biggest factors in my decision are going to be the school's location, the majors they offer and the coaching staff. Staying closer to home would be nice, but I also want a place that gives me the college experience. I want a good school academically, and the quality of the coaching staff is very important. I want to make sure they work well with players."
