Recruiting is picking up for 5-foot-9, 185-pound tailback Josh Tapscott. The Nokesville (Va.) Kettle Run prospect hasn't garnered an offer to date, but has many colleges interested.
"School wise, I've talked to Boston College, Illinois, East Carolina, Old Dominion, Richmond, Virginia, Maryland, Liberty, James Madison and Wake Forest," he said. "No one has offered me. They all want me to come to their camps to see me run routes since I'm an undersized kid."
Tapscott has taken a few visits to date including Boston College, Virginia, Maryland and East Carolina.
Does he like anyone?
"They are all really nice," he said. "I like Boston College. They have a really good education and I like the atmosphere there."
The tailback discussed what he wants as he looks at more schools.
"I'm looking for an education first," he said. "I'm also keeping an eye on what the team is focused on. Some teams try to buy you on the equipment and how they have it updated every year. Others sell you on the education part. Location is not really a big deal to me. I want to go where I can get to play."
Tapscott certainly was productive on the field this season running for 1,300-yards and 29 total touchdowns while earning all-district, region and state honors.
Not only a talented tailback, Tapscott qualified for the nationals in the 55-meter this past winter in track, but is only getting minor college interest there at this time.
