RB still looking for first good game

Austin (Texas) Westlake running back Tyler Campbell has started his "second season" with the opening of district play. But, the son of the former Houston Oiler is still looking for the first good game of his career.
"We started the year off 1-2," the 6-foot-1, 182-pound Campbell said. "But our second season got started with district play this last weekend. We won and we're now 1-0 on the season."

Campbell's father, Earl, has been laid up following back surgery and has not been able to take in his son's games this season.
"I take tapes of each of the games home to him," the three-star rated Campbell said. "We watch each of the games and go over them. He goes through and checks what I do on each play, whether I carry the ball or not. He is the best teacher I could have. I enjoy going through them with him. I've never had a good game, yet, according to him. There is always something to improve on. But, I know he's just trying to make me a better player."
Campbell still holds only two scholarship offers.
"It is still just Baylor and San Diego State," he said. "They have offers extended to me. Kansas and Missouri are calling me too. I think they probably will offer me eventually."
Missouri coach Gary Pinkel became the first head coach to call the Campbell house this year late last week.
"I had a good talk with Coach Pinkel. He was very enthusiastic about his program and his team. I'm hoping to learn more about them as we go along here."
Campbell doesn't look to narrow anything down real soon.
"I'm keeping my options open," he said. "I'm flattered that two schools have offered me scholarships. They feel I'm worth it. I feel like more schools will feel that way closer to the end of the season."
Campbell has rushed for close to 400 yards through four games including two games over the century mark. He has also put the ball in the end zone three times.
