RB plans on visits

De'Andre Johnson is one of the better running back prospects from Miami. Johnson, 5-8 and 210 pounds, is from Monsignor Pace. Last season as a junior he rushed for 1,121 yards and 10 touchdowns. Johnson has had a busy summer preparing for his senior season. Along the way Johnson stayed busy on the camp tour and he recently took an official visit to a Big 10 school.
"The summer went real well," Johnson said. "We just started practice and we begin two-a-days on Monday. This summer I went to a bunch of camps; Alabama, Georgia Tech, Wake Forest and LSU.

"I also visited Minnesota a few weeks ago. It was cool. I mean I like the coaches and I had a chance to met most of them. I saw their new facilities and like the stadium and locker room. And I like the city."
So with the visit to Minnesota does that give the Gophers a leg up for Johnson?
"Right now I am pretty open. If I had to pick tomorrow I wouldn't know who to sign with. I have not set up any visits yet. I talked with Iowa last night. They say I am their number one guy. I spoke coach (Kirk) Ferentz. I am trying to set up a visit with them.
"I plan on visiting Iowa, Duke, and USF. Hopefully I can get some more offers this season. If so this stuff can change. Miami, Wake Forest, and Florida are all recruiting me and they want to see what I do this year."
Pace plays Cypress Bay in the Kickoff Classic. They open up their regular season with Miramar.
