RB knows he needs to make the grade

It’s no wonder that Dobie running back Adrian Dennis likes the University of Texas. Dennis has been wearing Dobie Longhorn gear, which looks just like Texas’, for the past four season.
“I’ve always liked Texas growing up,” Dennis said.

Dennis (6-1, 210-pounds) could wear a Superman outfit if he wants, but he won’t be going to a Division I school if he doesn’t take the SAT or ACT test.
“Nobody has offered me because they are waiting on my scores,” Dennis said. “I am going to be taking the SAT in December. I’ve been taking an SAT tutoring class to get prepared.”
Division I powers Texas, LSU, TCU, Kansas State and Texas Tech are showing interest but are awaiting Dennis’ scores.
Dennis is one of Houston’s most prolific rushers, combining bruising size and break- away speed. He is also being recruited as a linebacker.
Offensively, Dennis has rushed for 1,483 yards and 20 touchdowns, ranking him in the top five of each category. He is the main reason that Dobie has also reached the playoffs, finishing second only to Class 5A state champion North Shore High School.
“The Dobie kid is a legitimate Division I player,” North Shore assistant Tom Lewinsky said. “He is a big kid that is tough to stop. He gave us everything we wanted.”
Dennis also anchors Dobie’s track team, running everything from the 200-meter dash to relay races.
