RB Johnson The Center Of Attention

Newport News (Va.) Heritage running back Michael Johnson met with Virginia head coach Al Groh on Wednesday night.
“It went well,” said the 5-foot-10, 180-pounder. “He calls all the time and I’ve talked with him at games and all, but to have him here really shows how interested they are. Miami head coach Larry Coker is coming next week, but to have coach Groh in so early was cool.”

Johnson heads off to Miami this weekend and has a visit with Tennessee tentatively scheduled for Jan. 11 and his Virginia visit set for Jan. 18.
“I might also visit Florida, but they’re waiting for my SAT score,” he said. “I took it Saturday and I think I did pretty good.”
Johnson is also considering Michigan State, a school he visited earlier this season.
“I’m still wide open,” he said. “I don’t really have a favorite.”
And will he take a look at Virginia Tech now that his best buddy Marcus Vick has set an official visit?
“I don’t think so,” he said. “I’m not really looking at them.”
