For Jermar Jefferson, it was simple.

The three-star running back from Harbor City (Calif.) Narbonne took his official visit to Oregon State this past weekend and made his commitment. There were two clear reasons why the Beavers won out.

“It just felt like it was the best fit for me and I really liked the coaches,” Jefferson said.

In recruiting, so much can be so confusing. It was not for the standout running back who finished with 1,861 yards and 34 touchdowns in his senior season.

Getting to spend time with the new coaching staff in Corvallis was a real selling point to the three-star running back.

“What stood out about the coaches was how they brought me in and made me feel like they were already family,” Jefferson said. “Coach (Jonathan) Smith was just asking me questions about my background and how I am as a person.”

Throughout his recruitment, Jefferson has landed offers from Oregon State, Colorado, Colorado State, Hawaii, Nevada, UNLV, San Jose State, Utah, Rutgers, New Mexico and Utah State.

With National Signing Day fast approaching, Jefferson does not think he’s going on any other trips especially after making his Oregon State pledge.

“I'm probably going to be done,” Jefferson said.
