RB high on Spartans, Mountaineers

The nation’s 16th-ranked running back says two schools top his current list of favorites and will likely be getting official visits next month.
“It’s Michigan State and West Virginia right now,” said Horn Lake (Miss.) star Brandon Jackson. “I’ll be making official visits to those two schools in November. I’m not exactly sure of the dates, but those will be my first two.”

Asked what he liked most about the Spartans and Mountaineers, Jackson said: “Mainly, it’s their style of play. I like the way their offense spreads people out and lets the running back do a lot of things. They like to run the ball and throw to their backs. It’s kind of an NFL style that fits the way I play.”
Michigan State is thought to hold a slight advantage due to his roots in the area.
Jackson (6-0, 220, 4.43) also has offers from Ole Miss, Mississippi State and Oklahoma State. He’s receiving steady interest from Arkansas, Tennessee and Marshall.
“They would be in my top five,” he said of the Hogs, Vols and Herd. “I may take visits to them.”
As a junior, Jackson rushed for 1,770 yards and 28 touchdowns. He’s not going to approach those lofty figures as a senior due to playing on an inexperienced team. Horn Lake is 1-5 thus far and Jackson has found the end zone only four times.
Academically, he carries a 3.0 GPA and is awaiting his latest test scores.
