Position: Running back
Size and speed: Lester is 5-foot-11, 183 pounds and has been clocked at 4.40 seconds in the 40-yard dash at the Georgia football camp. Lester also has a 36-inch vertical leap, 310-pound bench-press and a 500-pound squat.
Honors: Lester was a first-team all-state, all-county and all-area selection as a junior.
Statistics: Lester rushed for 1,650 yards on 183 carries and 15 touchdowns as a junior. He also did well on spot duty on defense with 10 solo tackles, four pass breakups and one interception.
Favorite Schools: Lester lists Maryland, Tennessee, Florida State, Virginia, South Carolina, Georgia and Georgia Tech as his top teams. He has scholarship offers from South Carolina and Virginia.
Skinny: Lilburn (Ga.) Parkview looks like the Clemson Tigers in its uniforms – and over the years the school has produced enough talent that it could probably compete with some of the teams in the ACC. Next in line is running back Brad Lester, who is 5-foot-11, 183-pounds and has a 4.40-second time in the 40-yard dash.
Lester said it his experience that helps him out.
“I played and lettered as a freshman,” he said. “I think that has allowed me to develop great strength and speed.”
And if you look at all of his physical tools – they’re quite impressive. Along with the 1,600 yards rushing, Lester can power-clean 335 pounds, run a 10.7-second 100-meter dash and he also has a 4.19 seconds time in the pro-shuttle.
Sounds like the perfect prospect for the colleges to look at. But what is Lester going to look at in the colleges?
“I think the No. 1 thing is a great coaching staff,” Lester said. “I also want a place with good academics and great facilities.”
