Versatile running back Shi'Kim Coward holds five offers, but he has an ACC team out in front early on for his services.
Georgia Tech is standing out to the 5-foot-9, 171-pounder from Niceville (Fla.). Paul Johnson's offensive scheme has caught his eye.
"I like the style of offense they run. They run most of the time," noted Coward. "It's Power O which allows me to get downhill and do what I do best."
He is working to get to Atlanta for a visit, but he hasn't set up a trip yet. Coward attended camps at Florida and Florida State earlier this summer. He is unsure if he will return to Gainesville for the Friday Night Lights event in late July.
Arkansas, Cincinnati, Clemson, and Vanderbilt are sending mail and checking in the most according to Coward.
"Every day I go to the mail box I have a letter from Arkansas," remarked Coward.
Coward possesses good explosiveness, lateral quickness and can cut on a dime. He is eager to show what he can do after missing four games because of a broken collarbone. Despite the missed time he still rushed for over 700 yards.
He has added weight since last year to help prevent any injuries for his junior campaign. Coward has set some lofty goals for the fall.
"I actually have a bet with former Niceville standout and Oklahoma running back Roy Finch. He said he can rush for more yards than me this year," joked Coward. "We are going to see though. It's a big role to fill because Roy was an all-time great. Every time he ran the ball he made at least eight people fall."
Coward seems up for the challenge. If he can double up on his production than he will likely see a nice boost in his recruiting stock.
