RB Clay close to pulling more offers

Lancaster (Pa.) Lancaster Catholic running back Roman Clay has landed one offer to date. The 5-foot-10, 210-pounder has taken a few visits recently and feels as if he is getting closer to more offers.
"Basically the past month of March and April I've been taking recruiting trips out to schools," he said. "I'm heading to Penn State this weekend, that is the last visit I know of so far.

"I just came back from North Carolina two weeks ago and went to UMass and Boston College before that. I visited NC State too."
With a number of visits under his belt, did Clay like anyone?
"I was really impressed with NC State and Boston College, those two the most," he said. "I think I'm close to getting offers from them, I've just got to camp.
"I like the social life at those schools, the coaches were really nice and I like the way the coaches act with each other and the players."
Clay believes a few other schools are close to offering as well including Bowling Green, Temple and Clemson, though Clemson wants him to camp first.
Clay noted that he plans to hit up camps at Boston College, NC State and Clemson this summer, and is considering Georgia Tech and Florida as well.
According to the tailback, one school stands out from the pack overall.
"NC State has stuck out the most," he said. "They are more of a football school as I would say. Their stadium holds 60,000 and 80,000 try to get in. That is a very important aspect of the college to me, knowing everyone there loves football."
Clay is coming off a huge season that saw him earn all-state honors and place as the runner up for Pennsylvania football player of the year and Gatorade player of the year. He posted 1,899-yards rushing and 32 touchdowns.
