RB Barnett takes two unofficials

Stafford (Va.) Brooke Point running back Chase Barnett has already taken a couple of unofficial visits this spring. The 5-foot-8, 175-pounder made trips to the Big Ten and Big East recently.
"Right now I'm taking unofficial visits," he said. "I've been to Penn State and West Virginia.

"I really liked both of them. They are really intriguing schools that took academics first, that is what I liked about them."
Barnett broke down the two trips a bit more.
"What really stood out about Penn State is that they have a great scheduled as far as academics," he said. "The academic center is right where the football players live and next to that is the tutoring center and then classes are close. It's great if you have a question, you don't have to walk real far.
"I want to say West Virginia had a great academic program too. I watched them practice and I was really impressed with what I saw. I was impressed with the running backs and got to see Noel Devine. I like the fact they use small running backs like me. I fit in their offense and Penn State's that is a big plus."
Currently Barnett has no other visits planned although he mentioned a trip to Baltimore for a Nike Combine in mid-April.
Recently the Commonwealth prospect just wrapped up his track season and placed first in the district and sixth in the region.
