One of the top running backs on Tobacco Road is up to four offers and he's interested in all four schools. What schools is James Arnold looking at?
"I have offers from East Carolina, Auburn, Clemson and North Carolina," said Arnold. "There are things about each school that I like, and they're each kind of different. North Carolina and East Carolina are closer to home I guess, and they're both trying to get their programs right.
"Auburn is a really strong program that loves to run the ball. They'll have some of the best running backs in the country this year but need some young guys to come in and help out in the near future. Clemson is moving towards something special and I like how they use their running backs and athletes."
The 5-foot-10, 171-pound back from Mocksville (N.C.) Davie County runs the 40-yard dash in 4.56 seconds and possesses good agility and instincts. There is one school out there that hasn't offered that Arnold is very interested in.
"I really like NC State," said Arnold. "I'm not sure if they're going to offer so I'm trying not to get too interested, but it's hard. They've got the best program in the state right now and there's a lot of excitement. I went to a camp and learned some good stuff. I'd like an offer, but I don't know if they'll put one out there for me yet."
As a junior Arnold rushed for 1,921 yards on 288 carries with an impressive 26 touchdowns. He's shown the ability to contribute in the secondary as well, where he recorded 33 tackles and five interceptions last season.
