CONVERSE, Tex. – One of the true 2019 athletes in Texas is high three-star Converse-Judson prospect Rashad Wisdom, and his recruitment to-date proves as much.

Though he’s built like a running back – and plays the position for his high school team – he won the defensive back MVP award at the Houston stop of the Rivals 3 Stripe Camp Series presented by adidas and holds his share of offers on the defensive side of the ball as well. Wisdom has picked up a variety of offers since the end of last fall and feels as though when he’s ready to make a decision, some program will be very happy to have him.

“The majority of those teams tell me that I am the Number One guy on their board for the position that they’re recruiting me at,” he said. “Really, it’s just a waiting game on me to see where I am going to go.”

One team that could be of particular interest going forward is Texas A&M. The Aggies have yet to offer Wisdom, but have kept an eye on him – in part due to his teammate being Rivals250 defensive end DeMarvin Leal – but he’s done plenty of work on his own to keep the staff interested. Meanwhile, after a recent offer from Boston College, Wisdom said the Eagles have been among the most proactive of the teams recruiting him.

IN HIS WORDS

On Boston College

“Honestly, Boston College has been on me the hardest,” he said. “I have one cousin playing up there right now and the other is committed [2017 signee Brandon Sebastian and 2019 commit Bryce Sebastian]. They have been on me hard to go play under Coach (Brian) White, playing running back helping them get better, get wins, and help them compete for a title.”

On Texas A&M

“I keep in contact with Coach (Terry) Price, I always talk to him,” he said. “I’m starting to talk to Coach (Tim) Brewster a little more. I’ve also talked with Coach (Mike) Elko every time I’ve been up there and he’s been interested in me since he was at Notre Dame and he hit me up when he got down here and got the job. He’s just told me that it’s a process, just to be patient and wait for it.”
