Favorite Colleges: When you talk about what schools are showing interest in Estes maybe the better question will be – name a college that isn’t. “There won’t be a school that wouldn’t offer Randy if he showed interest,” Los Al defensive coordinator Barry Sherr said.
UCLA and USC have already offered made official offers. Texas and Colorado have or are in the process of offering the talented defensive back from Los Al.
When it is said and done Estes will be one of those players who will end up having over 50 written offers.
Skinny: There is no doubt that safety Estes is among the best prospects at any position in the entire nation. He has all the skills that you could ever want in a big time student-athlete.
Not only is Estes one of the nation’s premier players but he is a well grounded young man as well. He hasn’t let any of the hype surrounding his abilities get the better of him. Estes just goes about his business.
Estes was a very important part in Los Alamitos’ Southern Section CIF Division I championship run
The Southern Section CIF Division I championship is one of the nation’s toughest division’s.
During the week of the championship game it was like Randy Estes week. There was a story about Estes virtually everyday leading up to the game.
Most kids would get a big head. Not Estes, he went out and set the tone for the game with a bone crunching tackle on the game’s opening kickoff.
Led by the Estes statement on the opening kickoff, Los Alamitos won the game going away pounding Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei 41-14.
“Randy plays big in big games,” Sherr said. “When he made that hit against Mater Dei on the opening kickoff, it set the tone for the way our team was going to play that game.”
“Randy hits like no other,” Los Al head coach John Barnes. “He’s a hitting fool.”
“Randy is very aggressive and physical,” Barnes said. “When he shows up to the football he lets you know he’s there.”
Estes is a very special player who is the complete package on and off the field. He will be one of the most sought after and recruited players in the country for the class of 2004.
Remember the name Randy Estes; you will hear it plenty from now to LOI day next February.
