The brother of one of the best athletes in Big Ten history is leaving his mark on the recruiting landscape this year. Many schools have offered athlete / quarterback Marcus Randle El, but for the moment he's only interested in five.
"I've pretty much narrowed things down," said Randle El. "I'm looking at five schools right now. It's down to Wake Forest, Indiana, Wisconsin, Iowa and Northwestern. I'd say those are pretty much even, but the only official visit I've set up for certain is to Wake Forest (Nov. 21)."
The 5-foot-10, 175-pound athlete from Harvey (Il.) Thornton Township runs the 40-yard dash in 4.53 seconds and often makes plays that, at the time, it was thought only his brother Antwan Randle El could make.
All five of his favorites have offered him scholarships, as have schools like Illinois, Kansas State, Pitt and Kentucky.
"I've wanted to play in the Big Ten for a while now," he said. "And with four of my five favorites in the Big Ten there's definitely a chance that I will.
"Wake Forest has done a really good job of recruiting me though. I like their offense a lot, and I think that's a place I could play quarterback at. But I have always sort of leaned towards the Big Ten."
