Rand names top five

After a busy summer filled with visits, four-star defensive tackle Garrett Rand got a good glimpse at some of his options and felt ready to narrow things down in his recruitment.
The 6-foot-2, 275-pound prospect from Chandler (Ariz.) Hamilton named a top five of Arizona State, Wisconsin, UCLA, Stanford and Washington on Monday, in no particular order.

WHAT'S NEXT?: Now comes the difficult part for Rand, one of the top-rated prospects in the Grand Canyon State. No official visits have been set yet but the interior lineman intends to start working on that as he also focuses on his senior season.
IN HIS WORDS: "I definitely want to make all of my officials to those five schools," Rand told Rivals.com. "Now I just have to sit down and set dates."
RIVALS' REACTION: Rand visited UCLA and Wisconsin in July and enjoyed those trips enough to want to return during the season. He also stopped by nearby Arizona State in early June, so the Sun Devils have proximity working in their favor. Stanford was thought to be a very meaningful offer when it arrived the day after National Signing Day in February, so it should be interesting to monitor moving forward as the Cardinal continue to build a strong class.
