Columbus (Ohio) Independence two-star running back/safety Jacob Ramsey had been leaning toward Cincinnati for quite some time, but he always wanted to wait and see what things were like after a solid senior season. However, with an 0-2 start and a team that is struggling Ramsey thought it was time to go ahead and pull the trigger.
"I don't think too many people know about it," Ramsey, who is 5-foot-11 and 211 pounds, said. "But I went ahead and committed to Cincinnati. I did it back on the 30th.
"I talked things over with my coaches and family and they all said with the team struggling it's going to be hard to get a lot of extra attention from the other programs. So I went with the team that had been with me all along."
It was a commitment that Bearcat assistant coach Tim Hinton was excited to get.
"He welcomed me to the Bearcat family," Ramsey said. "I was very excited, and so was he."
Ramsey, ranked as the No. 47 player in Ohio by Rivals.com, also had offers from Eastern Michigan and Miami of Ohio.
