Raleigh LB picking up interest

Recruiting is picking up for Raleigh (N.C.) Broughton linebacker Drew Davis. The 6-foot-3, 230-pounder is getting interest from schools across the Southeast.
"I'm getting a lot of interest from NC State, Duke, Vanderbilt, East Carolina, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Navy, LSU, Nebraska, North Carolina and Maryland," he said. "Nobody has offered yet, but Vanderbilt is promising they'll offer and I think NC State, East Carolina, Vanderbilt and Duke seem like they will."

To date, Davis has visited Duke.
"I like Duke a lot," he said. "Coach Cutcliffe is turning that program around a lot and he's a great coach."
With interest picking up by the day, Davis broke down what he wants in a school.
"Well, honestly I just want to see the field," he said. "I don't want to go somewhere and be on the bench. I love playing football and I want to get a good education. I have a 3.8 GPA."
As a junior, Davis earned all-conference honors.
"I did pretty well," he said. "I led my team in tackles and broke my wrist. I missed the first game and played the rest of the year with a big club.
"With that, I still got stronger and faster in the offseason and improved my tackling technique a lot. I got more comfortable playing too."
