Rainey happy to be with new team

Running back Quinton Rainey out of Virginia Beach (Va.) Landstown has played two scrimmages this season against Granby and Hampton. What did the 5-foot-11, 220-pounder think of his team and his play?
"I feel I did very well for coming into a new program, it was pretty easy," he said. "It's going great with the new team and my teammates don't treat me any different, it's like I've been here for years. My goal this year is to just be an all-state player on defense and win a state title."

Currently, the two-star prospect holds offers from North Carolina, James Madison, Maryland, Syracuse and a partial offer from Virginia.
"The other schools are just waiting to see me play this year and then they'll hopefully offer," he said. "I'm receiving a lot of interest from Tennessee, Virginia Tech, Miami, Florida and Florida State. I'm really surprised by the interest and I have to look at them some more."
Rainey is favoring North Carolina, North Carolina State, Maryland and James Madison heading into the fall.
"I like the way all those teams play and run the ball," he said. "They all do a lot of running with their power backs and that would be a really nice fit for me."
This weekend the No. 28 player in Virginia is heading out on an unofficial visit to Maryland.
"I'm going to just look at the school overall," he said. "I want to see the dorm rooms, teachers, activities around there and the city. They told me that they can make me a faster and stronger back and that's what I like about them right now."
Rainey was named all-district and all-region last season when he ran for 800 yards and seven touchdowns along with 105 tackles, two sacks and two interceptions in just seven games.
