Raiders and Aggies next to see Davis
Fort Worth (Texas) Dunbar athlete D.J. Davis continues to be wide open to the recruiting process.
“We have coaches in here all the time,” Dunbar coach Bob Jones said. “I’ve got one in here right now. And one just left. It has been a steady stream since they were allowed to start coming by the schools to visit with us.”

Several schools have already stepped to the table with scholarship offers.
“He has a lot of offers. I wouldn’t even want to try to name them all because I would leave someone out. He has not eliminated anybody. He is listening to what they all are telling him in the letters and is trying to decide which five schools would be the best for him to visit.”
“Texas, Arkansas, Missouri and Tulsa have been by here today. Kansas State’s Bill Snyder was here Tuesday. Mike Leach of Texas Tech and Dennis Franchione are coming Thursday.”
While the 5-foot-11, 182 pound Davis plays both quarterback and defensive back for Dunbar, Jones said Davis is pretty set in his decision.
“I think he wants to play defense. The schools are all looking at him for defense. There are a few schools that are intrigued by his quarterbacking skills. He is a great athlete. But we are limited on the amount of time we can spend with him on his techniques. He could be a better quarterback, but he really wants to play defense in college.”
