Ragas off and running

Marrero (La.) Archbishop Shaw has gotten off to a quick 3-1 start to the 2014 season, with 2016 three-star running back Trey Ragas carrying a heavy load for the Eagles' potent offensive attack.
Through four games the Eagles have average 47.5 points a game with a low of 30 in a season opening loss to Thibodaux. Ragas has done a great deal of the scoring with 14 touchdowns and 666 yards on 71 carries.

"Now we're just trying to finish our pre-district to get ready for our district because we have one of the hardest districts in the state," Ragas said. "So we have to keep getting better and focus."
Ragas holds an offer from Ole Miss and continues to keep in touch with the Rebel coaching staff. The Rebels are not the only ones keeping in touch with the standout running back. A few schools are showing more attention than the others.
"The schools who send me the most mail are Arkansas, Mississippi State, UCLA, Utah, Stanford, and Florida State," Ragas said.
He has also begun to establish a strong bond with one SEC coach.
"The Mississippi State coach I have a good relationship with, Coach Knox," Ragas said. "He understands it's not only for football but also for school."
He also has an unofficial visit planned to another SEC program.
"This week I'm going to Auburn to watch LSU and Auburn play," Ragas said.
He does not have any other unofficial visits scheduled at this time, but he does plan to make more in October. Arkansas was one program he mentioned.
Ragas and Archbishop Shaw face off Friday night against Thibodaux (La.) E.D. White on Friday.
Ragas is currently ranked No. 22 among the nation's 2016 running backs, and No. 20 in the Rivals.com Louisiana Initial Top 30.
