There are many in the know who feel that the best offensive guard on the West Coast is Drew Radovich (6-5, 280, 5.1) from Mission Viejo, Calif. Radovich is a big man who can really move. There aren’t many his size with his quickness.
Simply a freak of nature and one that has almost every western major D-I school vying for his services.
The recruiting world was floored when Radovich smoked a 4.03 pro shuttle run at the Nike combine held at USC all the way back in April. Radovich has seen his stock soar steadying upward ever since.
Radovich and his Mission Viejo teammates have jumped out to a 3-0 record trouncing Fountain Valley, Calif., 48-0 in their first game.
Proving that it wasn’t a fluke Radovich and company beat one of the best football programs in southern California in Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei 21-19.
Mission Viejo squeaked by Marina last week 10-7 to stand at 3-0.
Radovich and his Mission Viejo teammates will hook up with a very talented and athletic Los Angeles (Calif.) Crenshaw this Friday October 4th.
How does Radovich feel about his season so far?
“I have areas to improve on,” Radovich said. “But overall, like our team, I’m playing well.”
Radovich continues to work hard as he now works out on the bench at 295 pounds.
Radovich has offers from everyone in the Pac10 except Stanford and he also has an offer from Colorado.
Radovich will not take any visits until after the season preferring to concentrate on his senior season.
There are no-clear favorites at this time but Radovich does have a top four and they are Colorado, Washington, USC and UCLA.
Radovich let BruinBlitz know that distance will not be a factor when deciding on a school.
What is Radovich looking for in a school?
“The main thing would be how I get along with the offensive line coach,” Radovich said. “I will be spending a lot of time with him. Another consideration is how I will fit into their offensive scheme.”
Academics will be another strong consideration for Radovich.
