R250 WR Johnson talks Bama offer, standouts

Rivals250 wide receiver Juwan Johnson added a big time offer on Monday. The Glassboro (N.J.) star picked up an Alabama offer and said there are five schools standing out to him.
"I heard from my coach and he told me I got an offer from Alabama," 6-foot-4, 205-pounds. "I know a lot about Alabama, the team and the tradition down there. I've talked to coach Napier, the wide receivers coach. If you looked down the line you can see the types of receivers they've had with Julio Jones and some other guys that are big time in the NFL. I probably would take an official visit down there."

Johnson has identified five schools that are a cut above the rest.
"Five schools that stick out are Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Penn State and Boston College," he said. "Michigan is obviously a good, big name school. They've had a drop over the past couple of years but they're coming back. We talk every now and then.
"I've been talking to Michigan State's wide receivers coach," Johnson said. "We've talked about him and what I can to do for the school.
"Ohio State is a good team and they are good people as well," he said. "I've been talking to coach Warinner and coach Meyer. They're pretty good people and they've always had a good team.
"I'm visiting Penn State on Sunday," said Johnson. "I touch base with the coaches up there pretty often. Coach Gattis is a good guy. He isn't like the old style guys. They have a plan and want to get the Big Ten championship and go on to the National Championship.
"Boston College is a good team," he said. "The first thing with them is their academics. The fact that I could play early also stuck out. That's something I'm strong considering."
A decision could be in the near future for Johnson.
"I'll probably make my decision this month or next month," Johnson said. "I might take some visits after I commit but it all depends on how things play out."
Johnson is scheduled to participate in the Rivals Camps Series presented by Under Armour in Piscataway, New Jersey on April 12.
