R250 DE Hall picks Ohio State

Ohio State identified Terrell Hall as priority early on in the recruiting process and recruited him harder than any other school. That's what led to the Washington (D.C.) St. John's College High Rivals250 defensive end's decision to commit to the Buckeyes.
"Ohio State has always been a school that was on the top of my list or the one that I would compare all the other schools to," said the 6-foot-5, 251-pound Hall. "They had a lot of things on the table that other schools weren't offering me. They have a lot of stuff that will benefit me other than just football. I really like the family environment they have there.

"The fact that I talk to the coaching staff, I talk to coach Meyer, coach Johnson and even some of the graduate assistants," he said. "I talk to basically the whole coaching staff and they all seem like they genuinely care about me. They are here for my best interests and they always check up on me to see how I'm doing. They got close with my family and my mom. Coach Johnson would always be reaching out to me, making sure I'm doing all right and my family is good. He's even close with my little sister. It's really a family bond that I have with the coaches that I didn't have with every other coach."
Not only does Hall have a very strong relationship with the Buckeye staff but he feels like he has a great opportunity on the field.
"I feel like I'll be able to play early," Hall said. "I know if I work hard I could play anywhere on the field. I'm definitely not worried about when Ill play or how long I have to wait until I get on the field because they basically go off of who works the hardest. Coach Johnson definitely sees me being able to play early and he tells me that all the time."
Ohio State's success last year played a role in Hall's commitment but the way the made it through the season had a bigger affect.
"I wouldn't say it played a huge role," he said. "Even if they didn't win the National Championship they were still going to be one of my top contenders based off of how hard they recruited me and they showed they have a lot of resilience, losing quarterbacks. I just like the fact that they have a team bond where if one guy falls down another guy steps up."
Hall had an extensive offer sheet and other schools will surely continue to recruit him.
"I definitely will be trying to get other guys to come to Ohio State because they are my top school but I'll still keep my eye on other schools and still give them an opportunity," said Hall. "I might go on some visits but I'll go based off of the coaches that are still recruiting me hard."
Last season Hall had more than 20 tackles for a loss and about 15 sacks.
