One of the quieter prospects in the Rivals250 is John Reid. The defensive back from Philadelphia (Pa.) St. Joseph's visited Penn State again last weekend to meet with the new staff.
"I've been up there a couple of time so it wasn't much different," the 5-foot-10, 175-pound Reid said. "It was fun and I'm glad I actually got a chance to meet them. Coach (James) Franklin seems like a very charismatic guy and is very excited about the direction the program is going in. It was cool to see how excited he was about everything."
Reid is one of the top defensive backs in the nation and many of the country's top programs are flocking to his school to check him out.
"A lot of schools have stopped by and I'll be taking a few visits this spring," he said. "I know Notre Dame, Michigan and Michigan State came to the school. I think Virginia came by but I'm not sure.
"Notre Dame and Penn State are recruiting me the most right now. I'll be visiting Notre Dame on March 28 and 29, so that'll be a great time. There are a lot of players from Philly up there so I want to check it out. Michigan State has also been making a push but I'm not sure, honestly. I'm going to start getting more involved in recruiting soon. I don't have a timeline at all right now."
Reid also noted that he could be visiting Michigan State and Michigan in June.
