R250 DB Fields talks next steps

Rumors have been swirling around for awhile now but on Tuesday night Rivals100 defensive back Mark Fields decommitted from South Carolina. The Charlotte (N.C.) Hough standout has plenty of other suitors around the country.
"It's just a lot of uncertainty surround the coaching situation at South Carolina," said the 5-foot-10, 186-pound Fields. "When coach Spurrier came out and said the things about two or three more years obviously that played a big part in it. A lot of the other coaches that I'm close with are under one-year contracts so like I said, there's a lot of uncertainty right now."

Clemson, the Gamecocks major rival, are in very good position with Fields.
"I have an official visit to Clemson on January 16," he said. "I would say our relationship is pretty serious. I talk to the coaches almost every day."
Another national powerhouse that is returning to prominence is very involved with Fields as well.
"I haven't set up my Texas official visit yet," Fields said. "My relationship with Texas is pretty serious also. I talk to the coaches there a lot too."
Fields, who doesn't have a timetable for a commitment right now, had been committed to South Carolina since March.
This season Fields racked up 40 tackles, two interceptions and one fumble recovery.
