HOUSTON, Tex. -- Rivals250 cornerback D’Shawn Jamison is already committed somewhere. He’s already informed his future team, now all that’s left is to tell the public on October 14.

“I know where it’s going to be 100-percent,” he said. “But hey, I’m going to leave it in God’s hands, I’m going to trust the process, and get through it.”

A little more clarity would have been possible had Hurricane Harvey not made its way to southeast Texas a few weeks ago. Although he said he and his family didn’t have to worry about significant loss or damage, the experience was enough to keep him off the road until things were cleared up around his home.

“The storm kind of messed up everything,” he said. “I was supposed to have gone on two [official visits], but because of the storm I had to stay home. I’ll probably find some games to go to, though.”

Texas and TCU have long been thought to be the two most likely contenders for Jamison, but after the success that Oregon has had to start the season both on the field and in recruiting Texas, he warned not to rule the Ducks out of those teams that he chose from.

IN HIS WORDS

On Oregon

“It’s possible that Oregon is my choice,” he said. “The only thing is, is it’s just kind of far away from my family. That’s kind of the only problem but other than that, it’s a great school. They have my major, Coach (Willie) Taggart is a great coach, they’re going to grow this season so I’m excited to see them on the come-up.”

On the impact of committed teammates Al’Vonte Woodard (Texas) and Ta’Zhawn Henry (TCU) on decision

“They’re both talking to me,” he said. “At the same time, it’s my choice - my four years in college - so I’m going to talk with them, see how everything is going at their schools, see everything that’s going on and take it from there.”

RIVALS REACTION

Despite him saying that the Ducks are still a possibility, it seems as though they are, in fact, behind some geographically closer options. When prompted to give a hint about where he’s committed, Jamison offered this clue:

“Just know it won’t be in the cold,” he said.
