Brady White landed a surprise offer from Oregon on Monday night to make his upcoming decision even more interesting.

The four-star quarterback from Newhall (Calif.) Hart had been talking plenty with the Ducks and had taken trips to the campus but then that coaching staff backed off a little bit, only to send a last-minute offer to put themselves in the mix.
"Coach (Mark) Helfrich has been by the school before," White said. "Last offseason I made a few trips out there. They were telling me they were close to offering but I didn't know when they were going to do it.
"My dad had been calling them just to get their point of view because my dad is looking out for my best interests. He's trying to figure out what it was all about. I called coach (Scott) Frost (Monday) night and he gave me the good news."
White, who is seriously considering Arizona State, Cal and many others, admits that the Oregon offer did come in rather late but that the Ducks will get a serious shot at landing his commitment.
Rated as the third-best pro-style quarterback in the 2015 class by Rivals.com, White said he knows pretty much everything necessary about Oregon and probably won't take any more trips to Eugene before making his decision.
That commitment could come within weeks although no firm date has been established.
"The offer and the timing is a little later," White said. "I knew they've been interested in me throughout this whole process. My interest level in them is good. At one time they were my favorite and then they didn't talk to me for a little.
"The coaches answered those questions and told me the truth and let me know what happened with that. If I have any questions maybe I go up to visit but I don't think I really need to. I've been out there enough where everything I'm looking for and all the questions about that school have been answered.
"I don't think I'll be making another trip out there."
