On Thursday evening Rivals100 offensive tackle Austin Clark will be committing to one of four schools. Ohio State, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia Tech are the possible landing spots for the Lexington (Va.) Rockbridge star.
"There is no specific order to these schools right now," said the 6-foot-5, 295-pound Clark. "I've been talking to all of the coaches a little bit more lately but my opinions on them haven't really changed that much lately. I'm pretty confident in who I think it is going to be."
The school that Clark is going to choose earned the highest marks in three different categories.
"It really came down to three things for me," he said. "The first thing is how comfortable I am not only with the coaching staff but also with the academic staff. The second thing was the academics and the third thing was the depth chart. Those were the main three things for me."
Clark took a number of visits to each school and made sure he found out everything he could about each.
"During the visits I was looking for a few things," said Clark. "One of the things I wanted to do was get around the coaches more to talk to them face to face and get to know them a little bit more. I also wanted see the facilities, talk to the academic staff and get a better overall feel for the different places."
Clark's commitment will be televised Thursday on WSLS-NBC in Roanoke, Va during the 6:00 PM news. His actual commitment will occur closer to 6:20 PM during the sports segment. He will be choosing from four hats. The live commitment will be streamed live on Rivals.com.
