Rivals100 defensive tackle Tim Settle was one of the highest rated prospects at Virginia Tech's junior day last weekend. The star from Manassas (Va.) Stonewall Jackson has visited the Blacksburg campus before and still had a good time.
"It was good," said the 6-foot-2, 307-pound Settle. "I got to go around the campus and see where the player eat and have their classes. I saw a lot of things I haven't seen before. That was good.
"I talked to coach Beamer, coach Foster, coach Wiles and the whole staff," he said. "They were saying that they have a spot for me and this is the place for me. They were also telling how I could help the program."
For now, Virginia Tech hasn't built a lead for Settle.
"I appreciate every school that is recruiting," Settle said. "I don't look at any of them differently right now. They're all the same. Virginia Tech is recruiting me hard right now and I want to thank them."
"Coach Haggins is a good coach," he said. "He has been there for a long time and has put a lot of players in the NFL. They just won a national championship and are the top school in the ACC.
"I know Syracuse has a good basketball team but I don't know much about their football team," said Settle. "I don't know much about Mississippi State yet either. I'm learning about a lot of schools this year.
"I know West Virginia is not that far from me," he said. "I know Geno Smith went there but that's really it right now."
