R100 DT Settle talks visits, timeline

Rivals100 defensive tackle Tim Settle is one of the most coveted prospects in the 2015 class. The Manassas (Va.) Stonewall Jackson star has close to 40 scholarship offers and is visiting a lot of schools so that he can make sure he is making the right choice.
Settle's most recent visit was to N.C. State.

"It was fun," said the 6-foot-2, 307-pound Settle. "I liked that the stadium is separate from the campus. That was pretty cool. I went with Eric Kumah. The environment and how everything was within walking distance. I know they had a decent year this year.
"I got to talk to everybody," he said. "Coach Nielsen and I really hit it off. I really liked how he was he was coaching out there. The players seem like they know what they are doing."
The three most recent schools to offer Settle are Arizona State, LSU and Texas.
"I'm going to my research on Arizona State just like I do with every other school," Settle said. "I'm interested to see what I find out.
"Les Miles knows football and their practices are so intense," he said. "I was watching some of them online and their physical and rowdy. You have to love that with football players.
"I know Texas is a powerhouse and that state is all about football," said Settle. "I want to visit Texas on my spring break."
Settle has already taken visits to schools like Virginia, Virginia Tech, Maryland, Clemson, Ole Miss, Tennessee, West Virginia, Ohio State, Michigan, North Carolina, Alabama and N.C. State but he isn't done yet.
"I know I'm going to Oklahoma and Oklahoma State over spring break and I might visit Texas and Texas A&M," he said. "I'm leaving on April 10. I can't wait to get to Texas. That's some place I've really wanted to see. I'm going to go out to LSU this summer. I'd like to go to Iowa, Penn State and Pittsburgh at some point. During this summer I'm going to hit a lot of places. I might surprise some people with some of the visits I'm going to take."
Don't expect any top schools from Settle until closer to the season.
"I'm going to start narrowing things down to probably a top 15," Settle said. "I want to take 23 visits and I think I'm up to 13 right now. I want to decide after this season."
Settle has started baseball season and is a pitcher and an outfielder.
