R100 DB Lewis talks Miami visit

Rivals100 defensive back Marcus Lewis took another step toward a commitment this weekend with an official visit to Miami. This wasn't the first time the Washington (D.C.) Gonzaga standout has been on campus in Coral Gables.
"It was great," said the 6-foot, 194-pound Lewis. "My mom and I had a great time. We loved the way the players and coaches treated us. It was great.

"The things that were different this time was that they showed us more of the campus and saw the practice fields," he said. "The campus is beautiful. We saw the new stadium renovations also."
Lewis' recruitment has been a wild ride and some recent coaching moves could shake things up yet again.
"I'm trying to sort this thing out," Lewis said. "This week will probably be a big week for me to see where things are.
"Coach Mattison from Michigan called me and asked for my transcript and my test scores and they're going to let me know about that," he said. "They want me to take an official visit. I'm not sure if I'm going or not.
"Now that he's at Washington State, coach Manning called me and said I was the first person he called," said Lewis. "He said they need me and he wants to come out to my house this week. Coach Manning recruited me at Michigan. He is a really good recruiter. He thinks I could really get things started for future classes."
In addition to Michigan reaching out, Ohio State has also inquired to see how interested Lewis might be.
Kentucky, Miami and Washington State still make up Lewis' top three and no in-home visits or additional official visits have been scheduled.
