Another Turner County prospect on FSU's radar

THE LATEST: Quevan Lawson plays for Turner County High in Ashburn (Ga.). Not too many college coaches burn up the sidelines or hallways of this school, so Lawson is still somewhat unknown on the recruiting trail.

The 6-foot-4, 210 pound edge rusher is a junior who saw two teammates, Tamorrion Terry and Ontario Wilson sign with Florida State in February. He saw their recruitment take off very late in the process, so he is working to get his started a little earlier.

No offers in yet for Lawson, but he is drawing interest from a number of schools. There is one he'd really like an offer from.

IN HIS OWN WORDS: "I camped at Florida State, Auburn, Troy and the Satelite camp at Mercer this summer," said Lawson. "I am hearing the most right now from Florida State, Iowa State, Troy, South Florida, Georgia Southern and UAB.

"I am dreaming about getting my first offer. I am working hard for it and I hope it comes soon. I think about getting the first offer, but my high school team and season is what comes first."

FAMILIAR WITH FSU: "I have visited Florida State three times. I have been to two games and I camped there this summer. I really like how they build character and they always have great players. It would be huge for me to get an offer from them. It would be like a dream come true."

STRENGTHS ON THE FIELD: "I think they best thing I do no the field is rush the passer. I get off the ball well and it is my speed that gives me the advantage. I think I also play physical and do well with contact."

RIVALS REACTION: No offers in yet for Lawson, but they will come. He is a long, rangy edge rusher who could play standing up with his hand in the dirt. He had a good camp at Florida State and the interest is picking up. Once his junior film starts to get out, his recruitment could really start to pick up.
