Junior to Watch: Chad Vacek

Position: Quarterback
Size and speed: Chad Vacek is 6–foot-3 and 195 pounds. He has a 40-yard dash time of 4.7 seconds.
Statistics: He had 1,800 yards passing and 480 yards rushing as a sophomore, but he didn't have his junior season statistics available at the time of this interview.
Honors: He received all-district recognition as a junior.
Favorite Schools: He is hearing from Colorado, Boston College, Syracuse, Arizona State, TCU, Rice, SMU, Washington, Texas, UCLA, Florida, Florida State and Miami.
Coaches from Colorado have visited his school for evaluations and TCU, Arizona State and Texas Tech are planning visits.
"Colorado is recruiting the hardest with a letter every three days or so and they would be the favorite, if I made my decision today."
He would like to make his five official visits to (his comments follow):
Colorado - "They are recruiting really hard and showing me lots of interest."
Miami - "They win and I've always dreamed of going there."
UCLA - "They are another dream school, because it's in California."
Washington - "Rick Neuheisel is the coach there."
Texas - "It's close to home and they have a winning tradition."
Skinny: "Depending on the depth chart of the school, distance will be a factor. If I could realistically play, then I'd go anywhere. I'm going to also be looking at past records and players, as well as the current players, coaches and offensive style. If I can help the program, then I'll consider going there."
"My arm strength, pocket awareness and footwork" are his strong points as a quarterback.
He has attended the U. S. Army combine and he will be going to summer camps at Washington and Colorado, as well as possibly TCU.
He plans to major in business and has set his goals for next season as winning the district championship, making first team all-district and all-city.
He wants get 1,500 yards passing and 1,000 yards rushing.
He benches 260 pounds, squats 375 pounds, has a 25 inch vertical leap, and a cumulative GPA of 89.
