Quarterback dominoes: What's next for uncommitted in 2017

Tua Tagovailoa

Quarterbacks generally come off the board early and that is no exception in the 2017 class. Only a few remaining pro-style and dual-threat quarterbacks are uncommitted in the Rivals250, many of them from the West. Here is a look.

Tua Tagovailoa

Recruiting wrap: USC and UCLA are the top two schools for the Hawaiian lefty with the Trojans having the edge at this point. Tagovailoa has called USC his dream school and he’s visited there a few times in the last few weeks. He is also close with UCLA assistant coach Marques Tuiasosopo, but will it be enough to pull Tagovailoa away from USC? The four-star could take official visits before a decision so this one could last months.

Prediction: USC

Lowell Narcisse

Recruiting wrap: Narcisse had been committed to Auburn earlier in his recruitment but reopened things and said recently he had no top schools. Word is that LSU is a serious contender for the four-star prospect and that Alabama and Auburn are also being considered as well. This looks like a recruitment that’s going to stay in the SEC West and the home-state Tigers do look good. Clemson and Virginia could be two surprises.

Prediction: LSU

Braxton Burmeister

Recruiting wrap: The four-star recently de-committed from Arizona and has a new favorites list of Utah, South Carolina, Indiana and Washington. He is serious about that group but will also look at new offers if they come in as well. Utah impressed him a lot during the recent trip, as did the others, so this one is still too close to call. With the recent commitment of four-star Jake Bentley to South Carolina do the Gamecocks trail a little bit here? It seems like Utah and Washington have the best chance at Burmeister but the four-star quarterback has to be intrigued by the success of Nate Sudfeld in Bloomington, too.

Prediction: Washington

Jack Sears

Recruiting wrap: Sears has been taking visits and landing offers with Northwestern, Arizona and Vanderbilt being some of the latest ones. The four-star is also interested in Tennessee and visits Knoxville this week along with some Pac-12 programs and at this point, according to a source, Sears remains “wide open” in his recruitment. Texas A&M, USC and UCLA are all expected to see him throw in the coming weeks so his recruitment could take a lot of twists and turns. Still seems very early in the process for the San Clemente, Calif., recruit.

Prediction: Tennessee

Kasim Hill

Recruiting wrap: Hill’s recruitment is starting to take shape and Maryland has emerged as the team to beat for sure. The four-star has been to College Park a bunch of times including a recent trip where he and his father watched a scrimmage and sat in on quarterback meetings. Hill has visited a bunch of other Big Ten teams but the Terrapins are making him a major priority in this recruiting class and look to be the frontrunner.

Prediction: Maryland
