Quakers lead for Jersey RB

Ivy League schools are calling for Franklin (N.J.) Immaculata prospect Kelms Amoo-Achampong as the recruiting season is beginning to heat up.
The 6-foot-0, 195-pound running back has been contacted regularly by Pennsylvania, Columbia, Harvard and Dartmouth. Beyond the Ivy Leagues, Vanderbilt, Northwestern and Rutgers are also looking at him. At the moment, Vanderbilt is the only school that has offered him a scholarship.

Amoo-Achampong said he plans on taking his visits in December and January. He’s looking at visiting Pennsylvania and Harvard in January, but is not sure where else he’ll take his visits or when he’ll make a decision.
This season Amoo-Achampong put up 1,300 yards and 13 touchdowns to help Immaculata to a 5-5 record as they just lost in the playoffs to Holy Cross.
“I think we did pretty well, I’m not really disappointed. I think I did well and I think everybody thinks they could have done better, but we made a run at it.”
Most of the schools looking at Amoo-Achampong are recruiting him as a running back, but some are also considering him a defensive back.
“I love to the run the ball, but if I had to play defense I wouldn’t mind that at all.”
So who is leading for the running back?
“Probably my top choice is Penn, I just like the urban environment and they’re the number one Ivy League team.”
